“I haven’t been to the Isle of Wight since I was a kid”

A phrase I hear constantly.

When I rediscovered the Isle of Wight a few years back, it’s what I said.  I had not been to the Island since I was a kid.  Now I had my own kid and the memories I have of holidays here are being replayed through her eyes.

Colourful sands, Blackgang Chine, huge amounts of ice cream and the simple pleasures of a stretch of beach, a few pebbles and a fishing net.

I have a plan, its called the Summer Road Trip 2017.  Myself and my daughter are off to the Isle of Wight for a large chunk of the summer holidays (and the husband may visit us occasionally too).  We are staying in cottages, apartments, cabins and a yurt.

As we travel on our adventures, I will keep you posted... good and bad.  Watch this space for reviews, recommendations and top tips to survive a month with a 5 year old, only occasionally having the use of a washing machine.  Wish me luck......
